Informations taken this Eighteenth day of
April 1771 . at the Parish of St. George Hanover
Square within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County
of Middlesex upon an Inquisition touching the
death of William Glover< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

Robert Jemmison< no role > a Drayman Servant to Leonard Hammd< no role > .
& Co. Brewers at St. Margaret Hill in the Borough of Southwark
on his oath saith, That Wm. Glover< no role > the Deced was likewise a
Drayman & Servant to Mr. Hamond, That the Deced this Dept.
and one Joseph Curtis< no role > on Saturday last (April 13th) in the
Afternoon were sent to lay some Beer for Mr. Machell
at the Sign of the Barley Mow in Park Street, Says that this
Dept. was laying a Bed of Hay bands to bring the Buts of
Beer down upon, when the Deced pulled the first Butt
off a Dray with great force, and that the Butt with it's
Weight forced the Deced down to the Ground and fell upon
his Body, Says that he was not able to get up, and
complained of being much hurt, Says that the Deced
was carried on a Chairman's House to St. George's Hospital . And this
Dept. says that no Person but the Deced touched the Butt
when it fell upon him, Says that the said Butt and the
strong Beer therein were the Property of Mr. Hammond
and his Partners.

William Young< no role > House Apothecary to the George's Hospital
in the Parish of St. George Hanover Square on his Oath saith
That on Saturday last in the Evening William Glover< no role > the Deced
was brought to said Hospital as a Casualty, Says that there
was no Wound or external appearance, but the Deced
complained of a violent pain about his Navel and was
not able to make any Water, Says that he was informed
that a Butt of Beer had Fallen upon his Belly, that the Deced
died in said Hospital on Tuesday last (April 16th.) and
Dept. believes that his death was caused by the Accident
abovementioned.
