of Middlesex }

Informations taken this Twentieth day of
January 1766 at the Parish of St. Martin in the
Fields within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County
Middlesex on an Inquisition touching the Death of
Jane Price< no role > lying Dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County.

Peter Lacroy< no role > a Lodger at Mr. Hitchcock in Grays Inn
Passage Peruke maker on his Oath saith, that he was the
Morning between nine and ten o'Clock walking along
Panton Street , Says that the Deced was before him and
on foot in the same Street going towards the Hay Market
says that the Deced was going to cross Oxenden Street in
the said Parish of St. Martin in the fields , and that a Carmen
was at the same time driving a Cast loaden with a Cloald [..]
of Coals and drawn by three Horsesdownup Oxendon Street as Dept believes
and that said Carman was on the same side of the House
[..] of that these in his Handsays that he
took hold of Deced's Cloaths and desired her to stop, or
that the would be in Danger of her life, says, that she
persisted in crossing and went up to the Horses, says that
the Middle Horse (as Dept. belives) with his Head forced
the Deced down and that one of the wheels of the last
went over the Deced's Body and Head, says that he soon
after went to Decd who lay in Oxenden Street and says
her Bleed, and believes that she was then Dead. And this
Dept. says that the Carter used his Endeavours to stop the
Horses before the wheel had gone over the Deced.
