that said Bell had sold together with Two Pounds and five
shillings being a sum charged for Nine days hirebeing shown
charged
by the owner of said Horse to the Prosecutor [..] Mr.
Cope observed if Defendant would would undertake to pay there
Sums the Prosecutor he thought would be induced to settle and
Deponent further saith that in answer to such on proposal he
informed Mr. Cope he could say nothing then but that his
Clyant would be at Guildhall on the Morrow Morning and he
would state to him what had hoped believes and Mr. Cope and
Deponent and this Deponent further saith Hetor the Moner
Morning said Mr. Cope met this Deponent in King Street
Westminster in Company with the other Deponent Lavell
and Thomas Hardley< no role > and again made the scare proposal
he had done to this Deponent. the proceeding Evening when
Deponent Lavell objected to the Terms observing he believed
the Money for which the Horse was sold meanry the five
Pounds was at the Port duty office in Hyde street and he
supposed they might receive it or pay in the Expences of the
sale but with the Horse he would have nothing to do but if
Mr. Aldrich the Prosecutor would accept of Five Guineas he
would pay that sum rather them be exhered in Court and that
he would settle with the Owner of the Horse for the Hire and
if there Terms were not Accepted he would go with Court and
to he his Tryal Mr. Cope observed him Clyent Mr. Aldrich was
not yet come down but that he expected him very soon and
would martin to him said ofter and would then inform this
Deponent whether Prosecutor would accede to the Terms
accordingly prosecutor did anise very soon and Mr. Cope
as he informed Deponent and which he verily believes bearing
consulted him returned to Deponant the other Deponents Lovell
Hardly and several other person the Frierds of Depondant
being present when after some little conversation respecting the
