Grant to James
Porter

We have agreed with with James Porter< no role > to grant him a Lease of
Several old Houses and Ground (late in Lease to Joseph Webster< no role >
Mary Creech< no role > and Richard White< no role > by three Several Lease) for 21. years
from Midsummer 1733. at £35. P ann free He is to repair the
Premisses at his own charge.

Grant to Christopher
Chapman

We have agreed with Mr. Christopher Chapman< no role > to grant him
Lease of a House in Pater noster Row late held by Ann Gregg< no role > for a
term of Eleven years from Midsummer 1733. determinable at the
and of the frist Seven years on Six months notice to be given by the Said
Mr. Chapman at the yearly rent of £25. clear of Taxes.

Grant to Tho. Smith< no role >


We have agreed with Mr. Thomas Smith< no role > of Cambridge our Present
Tenant of the Watermill and a close called Topeliffs Close in Meldreth in
Cambridgshire with a Small Copice there unto belonging to grant
him a Lease thereof for 21. years from Michaelmas 1733. (when the
Present Lease will expire ) at the yearly rent of £4.10 Tax free
and a Fine of £60. to be Paid on Sealing the Contract.


Resolution of the
Court of Aldermen
abt. Choosing Presidts.
& calling General Courts


Mr. Treasurer having laid before us a Letter Sent him by
Thomas Jackson< no role > Esqr . Town Clerk of the City of London dated 18.
of April last Signifying that the Court of Aldermen desired
Mr.Treasurer attendance on that Court and that he would
lay before them Such Precedents as he should find in the
Hospitals books Concerning the Method used in Choosing a
President for this Hospital for Some years past We Caused an
extract to be taken from the Court books touching the
method used in that respect within the last hundred years
and the Same was laid before the said Court And
Mr. Treasurer having likewise laid before us two other
paper writings received by him from the Said Town Clerk
One of them importing Minutes of a Court of Aldermen
held 10th March 1690 and a Resolution of the Present Court
of Alderman dated 22d. May last And the other of the Same
date importing a Resolution that upon the death or
resignation of a President of this Hospital the right of
Summoning and holding a Court in Which a New President
is to be Chosen is in the Lord Mayor for the time being and
also another Paper writing which he recieved from
Sr . Gerard Conyers< no role > President of this Hospital expressing a
desire and authority from the Court of Alderman to him
to hold a General Court of this Hospital for the Choice of a
Physician and other business.

We took the said Several papers into consideration and though
it most proper to Appoint a Sub Committee to inspect Presceden [..]
relating to the Goverment of this Hospital and of the
Method used in Calling General Courts and in the Choice of
Presidents and Governors and to advise with Council as
they shall think fit and to make their Report to the
Grand Committee
