the Court that he may have the Opinion & Direccons of
this Court therein. Which Lettter was now read as were
also the Opinions of Doctor Oldys and Doctor Lane
taken in the Yeare One Thousand Seaven Hundred
and Three when A Visitacon was appointed to be
held in the said Church by the then Bishop of
Winchester or his Chancellor whereby it appeares
that the sd. Church is in the Nature of a Free Chappell
and is Exempt from all Archiepiscopall Episcopall
and Archidiaconall Visitacon & Jurisdiccon
whatsoever; And a Declaracon made and
Subscribed by Doctor Brampston who came to
Hold the said Visitacon for the Bishop in the sd:
Yeare One Thousand Seaven Hundred & Three
touching the Exempcon of the sd: Church was
also Read:

The Exempcon of
the Church & Minister
from the Jurisdiccon
of the Bishop of
Winchester to be Maintained

Whereupon this Court Resolved
and Ordered that the Exempcon of the sd: Church
and the Minister or Chaplaine thereof from
the Jurisdiccon of the sd: Bishop of Winchester
should be maintained and defended at the Hospitalls
Charge And the Care thereof is Referred and
Recomended to the Grand Comittee who are
to manage the same as they shall think most
for the Service of the Hospitall, and to Advise
with Councill from time to time as Occasion
may require.
