he grants liberty of
way over a [..] ground
for 50 yeares from 1706.


And we have also agreed with the sd. William Waterman< no role > , who
now holds of us without Lease, A peice of Ground in St. Thomas's Parish
lyeing neare the little Maze pond, and by him used for a yard to lay Timber
in at Four Pounds P Ann. Before the Front of which peice of Ground and
of the other Ground adjoyneing on each side thereof belonging to this Hospll. there
runs a small shipp or peice of Ground of about Four Foot in breadth, which
the sd. Wm. Waterman holds by Lease from John Weston< no role > Esqr . wherein the
Terme of Fifty yeares or thereabouts are yet to come, That in Comm of a
Demise or Lease to be made to the Governrs. of this Hospll. (and which he has
agreed to make) of Liberty of way & passage over the sd. small Shipp or peice
of Ground as the same is now laid into the Street there for all the Persons
passing & repassing to or from any part of the Ground belonging to this
Hospll. For all the Remr: of the Terme now to Come in the Lease from
the said Mr. Weston at a pepper Corne P ann. And in Comms of the sume
of Two hundred pounds to be laid out by the said Willm. Waterman in
the Building of One or more Men Brick Houses upon the sd. peice of
Ground within Three yeares from this time, a Lease shall be Granted to
him of the sd. peice of Ground For One & Fifty yeares from Lady day
next at Three Pounds Six Shillings P Ann with usuall Covents.

This Committee taking Notice of the great Inconveniency which
have already [..] pued & may hereafter arise by the Age & Infirmity
of the Officers & Servants in & about this Hospll: are of Opinion That no
Officer or Servant Man or Woman be admitted or Chosen into this Hospll.
for the Future who shall be above Fifty yeares of Age, and shall not be of a
Sound & healthy Constitucon, And this Comittee doth recomend the same
to this Court as propper to be made a Standing Order of this Hospll:

And we have agreed with Mr. John Russell< no role > our late Tennt
of a small old Tenement in Chequer Alley Southwarke the Lease
whereof Expired at Michas 1706. To Grant him a New Lease of
the sd House for Fourteen yeares and an halfe from Michaelmas
last at the old Rent of Forty shillings P Ann in Consideracon of
Repaires and a Fine of Five pounds to be paid in hand.

And lastly it is the Opinion of this Comittee That
where any of the Governrs of this Hospll: shall in Course be Desired to
take upon him the place of a Steward, at a Generall Court according
to the Antient Custom & practice used in this Hospll. and shall think
