That dureing the late Warr with France they always testified their
readiness, To take Care of all the Sick and Wounded Seamen who were at any
time sent to their House by the Comr. for the said Service; A Signal proofe
Governours to Clear the House of above 150 Patients by Quartering them abroad

The Physitians and Surgeons of St Thomas's Hospitall
Humbly Reprsent

That in our Memoriall of the 25th of March last Wee prayed the
Allowance of 6s:8d: p head for the Cures of sick and Wounded Seamen into our
house dureing the late Warr with France Whereupon it Pleased this honble: board
after many Debates, To declare that in their Opinion, 5 P head was sufficient and
left it to us to Consider of it.

Wee have since consulted with those concerned therein and for severall
Reasons Wee cannott receede from our first request of 6s:8d: for said Cures.

[..] Because Wee find Wee have prejudiced and Under valued our Labour. by
asking so little, For it wee had been paid by the Day such Rates as none would have
served for, Vizt 5 for the Physitian and 2s:6d for the Surgeon p diem it would have
amount to nigh £1000 more than the 6s:8d p head Or had Wee been allowed the same
Sallaries
