Assignes of the said Bargained premisses according to the said
Agreemt: and that in Convenient time the Trustees appointed by his
Maties Letters Patents for the Letting and disposing of the Lands &
Tenements belonging to this Hospitall be applied to for the sealing
and Executing the same

Then one of the Members of the said Comittee having acquain-
-ted the rest of the members thereof that the Physicians of this
Hospitall (as he has been informed) do not Ordinarily attend the
Patients of the house labouring under Veneri all Distempers see
Frequently as is requisite for the effecting and Expediting their Cure
Moved that it might be considered whither that defect ought not
to be supplied by permitting the Chirurgeons of this Hospitall to
give such Phisick as they shall think fitt to such of the said Patients
as aforesaid without consulting the said Phisitians or either of
them since as was alledged the waiting for their Prscripcons
may of ten times proved prejudiciall to such of the said Patients as
aforesaid in preventing or recarding their Cure.

Whereupon the comittee took that matter into consideration
But in Regard it appeared to the comittee that the Phisicians as they are
Gentlemen of knowne and approved still in their proffession soe they
have alwaies been observed to be very sedulous in their attendence upon
at the patients of the house under their care, in Order to the Cure of such
patients of their respective distempers and in their undertakings have
beene soe very successfull as to leave noe roome for supition that any of
the patients of the house have at anie time suffered through theire
fault or neglect, Therefore and the rather for that (As it seemes to the
Comittee) The Indulgence of such Liberty and aforesaid to the Chirur -
-geons of the house would tend to draw an unneccessary charge upon
the same by occationeing a Lavish and profuse Expence of the druggs
and Phisick thereof.

Ordered that the ancient Rule of this Hospitall that noe
Chirurgeon shall give anie Phisick to any Patient admitted into this
House, but that the Doctors alone be left to Prescribe Phisick to all
Patients to be continued for the future Strictly observed And it being
as the comittee conceive of noe lesse, consequence to the house that the
Phisick and medicines prescribed to the Patients thereof be well
Compounded as that the druggs and simples made use of in the
Composition of the same be pound and good. Itt is further Ordered
that to the Order lately made. That the provideing at reasonable
rates good and wholesome druggs herbs & other simples for the
composition of Phisick for the use of that patients of this hospitall
be wholly comitted to the care of such of the Governours thereof
as are or shal be apothecaries or anie two of them who are from time
to time to take to their assistance therein The Phisitians of this
hospitall or one of them Itt be added that it be comitted in like
manner to the particular care of such of the Governrs: of the house
as are or shalbe Apothecaries or anie two of them from time to time
to inspect the Compositions of the Phisick and medicines provided or
