The Minutes of the last Committee held the
19th instant were read and confirmed; Except the
Order for appointing a General Court on
Wednesday the 27th instant for the choice of a
President of this Hospital in the room of the
Right Worshipfull Sr John Eyles< no role > Bart
the late President deceased

Mr Treasurer Informed the Committee
that the Clerk had waited on the Right Honble:
Henry Marshall< no role > Esqr the Lord Mayor , To Acquaint
him that the Committee had appointed the 27th instant
for holding a Generall Court for the choice of a
President & desired to know whether his Lord:
ship would be pleased to be present to hold the same
His Lordships Insisted that in this case the
sole power of appointing the Court was Vested in
him as Lord Mayor and declared he wou'd not
be present at the said Court or to that Effect
And Mr Treasurer apprehending that some
inconvenience may arise from a Contest of this
Nature to this Hospital thought proper to summon
this Committee to consider thereof And the
matter being now taken into Consideration
