Grand Committee
11th October 1737 .

Minutes of the last Grand Committee were
read and Approved.

Mr. Treasurer Reported that a General
Court was held on the 17th, of August last
and that the said Court had Elected Sr John
Eyles< no role > , Bart . & Alderman to be President
of this Hospital in the room of Sr General
Conyers deced.

Order from the
Court of Alderman
concerning the
Election of Presidents

The Clerk acquainted this Committee
that on the 8th. day of September last he was Served
with a Copy of an Order of the Court of Alderman
dated the 6th. of the same Month Whereby it was
ordered That the Clerks of the Several Hospital,
of St Bartholomews Christ Bridewell & Bethlam
and St. Thomas's do furwith each of them
return to the said Court an Account in
writing under their hands of manner of
Electing their Presidents on deaths or Removals
and by whose direction & authority the Courts
have been appointed & held for those purposes

The Clerk also acquainted the Committee that
he has inspected all the Reportory book of this Hospl.
from its institution and Extracted what he
apprehends relates to the Choice of Presidents
in order to lay the same before the Court of Alderman

Mr. Treasurer acquainted the Committee
that Mr. Phebe Johnson< no role > the Hospital Cook
is lately deceased
