Revd. Sir
As there was 3 Year & 3/4 Quit Rent for the Manor of
Hinton Netherhall Due at Mids. last, I am in hopes that
you will before long remit a considerable part of it. I
have been called upon by the Auditors of the Accounts
of this Hospital, as well as by the Treasurer, to know the
reason of the said Rents being so much in Arrear, but
as it was next to impossible for me to Satisfy them in,
this Respect, they Order'd me to write to you [..] relative
thereto. You will therefore please to favor me with a Letter,
signifying by what means the said [..] two been ac-
cumulated, & the time, when you shall be enabled to Dis-
charge all, or part thereof,

Revd Sir.
Being well assured of the great regard you
have for this Charity, & that you would gladly do it any Service
when an opportuity should present, upon the presumption
of which, it is, that I take this Liberty to request the Favor of
you to send word as soon as conveniently may be, how
affairs stand at our Tinant's Mr. Pigram's. The occasion of
this inquiry is his Rent is Greatly in Arrear, & Mr. Treasurer
being determin'd that some method shall be taken for the
Security of it: But previous to this, He thinks it will not be
amiss, if some Account could be obtained of the Stock on
the Premises. The Treasurer [..] imagines that this may be
alone without the least Suspicion of Pigram, & without much
honble (he hopes) to you. your will therefore please to give
me what information you can on this head, that it may be
laid before the Grand Commee when they meet, which will
I believe, be in a fortnights time
