Novr. 12th. 1757
Mr. Ellis
I am surprised to hear that you shod. postpone the
Execution of yr. Agreemt. wth. the Hospital for the sake of some
trifling Punctilios which the Govrs. can never comply with And
which can be of no real Service to yo. For yo. know that the
Deputation is a matter of mere Favour and that Mr. Morse's
signing it by Order of the Grand Comee is Sufficient But what
is more amazing is that yo. shod. scruple Mr. Treasurer's Bond
for £400.-which is more than any Treasr. did before it being
always thought as proper Security for the Clark to give a Bond
besides it's being enter'd in the proceedings of the Commee is as binding
to the Whole Body of Govrs. as the SealBy this perverse Method
of proceeding, I perceive the Gentleman will determine to set
aside the whole Agreement, & consequently the renewal of yr.
Lease will be vacated of Courseyrs. Etc J:W.
