St. Thomas's Hospl: 22d June 1743

Gentlemen
I am Directed by the Grand Committee
of Governors of St Thomas's Hospital to write you this Letter
on their having been inform'd that by an order of the Vestry of
your Parish a Blind has been putt up agt. one of theirs Houses
on pretence of not paying for the Liberty of the Lights into your
Church Yard of which their Intention the Hospital reced no
Notice.

Tis the Business of the Gentlemen hereto do all the
good they can and the whole of the Hospital Income is Imploy-
-ed for the benefit of the Poor & Distress'd; they therefore think
themselves Intitled to kind & civil Treatment and do hope
& Expect you will immediately order this Blind to be taken
down and if it shall appear that what you demand is Just
they will readily Comply therewith.

You'll be Pleas'd to give an answer soon that it may
be communicated to the next Committee which I Expect will
be shortly held

This is to advise you of the Recet. of yore. of the 30th last
wth. 4 Bills inclosed for £82..1..3 which are accepted & when paid
shall be placed to the Accot: of the Tils halfe Tents: for the ½ years
Rent due at Laday last.
