Clay Tye, If you think proper you may Speak to
Cross the Bricklayer to come with you, but by
what I see of him he seems to be a heavy Slow Man
and I should questions his ability to go thro' a piece
of Work cleverly. In the mean time I think ye.
would do well to begin to be pulling down the North
end of the House & to prepare for under pining and
by the inclosed paper from Sr

Mr Cross the Bricklayer seemed to me to be a heavy
Slow man which makes me doubt Whether he will
be fit to undertake our worke at Clay Tye & go there
it cleverly pray give me your opinion of him
the sooner the better, & tell me if you know any
fitter man, or if Occasion be we can send one
from hence, Glascock the Carpenter Seems
to be a Sensable understanding man & I hope he is
a fair honest dealer, I have wrote him this
post to come to Sr
