Mrs. Swaine
The Governors have had a Proposall from Mr. Court, to Sell
them his Farme called Little Combe
in your Neighbourhood, and adjoyning
to the Hospitall Lands. The Governors desire the favour of you
with the first oppertunity to Informe them what is the yearly Rent,
what Allowances he makes his Tennt: out of it, whether the present
Rent be the Old Rent; and if not what was the old Rent, and when
advanced; what Buildings are upon the Estate, and in what Condicon
as to Repaires; How many Acres it consists of, and of what Sorts &
Goodness; what wood there is upon it & what Growth; How it is
Rated to the Land tax & poor. whether you beleive it will hold
the Present Rent or what other Rent: Whether the Tenant is a
man of Abillity.And how many years purchase it is worth:
A cleare Answer herein will oblige the Governors I am

Mr. Goldstone has been here And sayes he can't find any
person who will either buy his Goods or become Security to Answer
the Value of his Corne as it shall be Threshed out and Sold: He
therefore desires the Governors would Cause Workmen imediately
to be Imployed to Thresh out all the Corne. and have it Sent to
Markett and Sold, Hee'l allow all the Charges out of ye produce;
Tis to be sold according to the markett price. He has given a Note
under his hand for this purpose. Mr. Trear desires that Mr:
Brett would imediately Set men to work, and that you and He
would take care to have the Corne Sent to markett & Sold as well
and with as much Expedition as may be. And that an Accompt
be kept of all Charges. Pray acquaint Mr. Brett herewith
as soon as you can: And give what advice and Assistance you can
to have this Affaire brought to a Settlement
