MIDDLESEX .


AT the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the King, holden for the County of
Middlesex , at the Guildhall in King Street, Westminster , in the said County of Monday in
the Week next after the Close of Easter to wit the first [..] Day of April in the Thirty ninth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third, King of Great Britain, Etc. Before William
Mainwaring
< no role > , Daniel Williams< no role > , Hugh Dive< no role > , Hammond Crosse< no role >
Esquires, and others their Fellows, Justices of our said Lord the King, assigned to keep the Peace in the
County aforesaid; and also to hear and determine divers Felonies, Trespasses, and other Misdemeanours
committed in the same County. That Session of the Peace in adjourned, by the aforesaid Justices of
our said Lord the King abovenamed and others their Fellow aforesaid, here until Tuesday
the Second day of the same Month of April at the hour of Ten in the Forenoon
of the same Day, to be holden at the Session House upon Clerkenwell Green , in and for the said County,
and that at the same Session of the Peace being holden by Adjournment aforesaid, at the Session House
aforesaid, in and for the said County, on the said Tuesday the Second Day of
April in the Year aforesaid, before the said Justices of our said Lord the King
abovenamed, and others their Fellows aforesaid. That Session of the Peace is adjourned by the afore
said Justices of our said Lord the King above named, and others their Fellows aforesaid, here until
Wednesday the Third Day of the same Month of April at the Hour and
Place last abovesaid, and that at the same Session of the Peace, being holden by Adjournment afore
said, at the Session House aforesaid, in and for the said County, on the said Wednesday the
Third Day of April in the Year aforesaid, before the said Justices of our
said Lord the King abovenamed, and others their Fellows aforesaid. That Session of the Peace
is adjourned by the aforesaid Justices of our said Lord the King abovenamed, and others
their Fellows aforesaid here until Thursday the Fourth Day of the same Month
of April at the Hour and Place last abovesaid. And that at the same Session of the Peace
being holden by Adjournment aforesaid, at the Session House aforesaid, in and for the said County, on
the said Thursday the Fourth Day of April in the Year aforesaid, before
the said Justices of our said Lord the King abovenamed, and others their Fellows aforesaid.

Whereas William Gowers< no role > of Fanconverg Court in the Parish of Saint Anne
Westminster in the said County of Middlesex Chimney Sweeper Hath at this present
Session Exhibited his petition and Appeal setting forth That He was in and by
certain Conviction in Writing under the Hand and Seal of Henry Wigstead< no role > Esquire
one of the Justices of our Sovereign Lord the King assigned to keep the peace and also to
hear and determine divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdemeanors done and
committed within the said County of Middlesex bearing date the Eighteenth day of
February in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and ninety nine Convicted
by the said Henry Wigstead< no role > For that He the said William Gowers< no role > being a person
exercising the business of a Chimney Sweeper did in the Morning of the Sixteenth
day of February unlawfully cause Thomas Brofey his Apprentice Boy to call the
Streets before Seven oClock in the Morning, the same being between Michaelmas and
Lady day against the Statute Etc. And that the said Henry Wigstead< no role > did
adjudge the Petition and Appeallant to have forfeited a Sum not exceeding Two
Pounds nor less than Five Pounds to wit the Sum of Five Pounds to be
