The King on the Prosecution of John Hicks< no role > Plaintiff
against
Thomas Davies< no role > Defendant
For Assault

Thomas Davies< no role > of Wapping in the County of Middlesex
Auctioneer the Defendant abovenamed Maketh Oath and Saith that at
the last Quarter Sessions of the peace held in and for the said County of Middx
a Bill of Indictment was preferred by the abovenamed Prosecutor against this
Deponent for an Assault And this Deponent also Saith that he hath duly
appeared and put in Bail to Try his Traverse to the said Bill of Indictment
so preferred against him as aforesaid and that he did on or about the Sixteenth day
of September last give notice to the said John Hicks< no role > that he this Deponent would
personally be and appear at the present Quarter Sessions of the peace and
take his Tryal on the plea of not Guilty to the said Bill of Indictment so
Preferred against him this Deponent as aforesaid And this Deponent
further Saith that being Ignorant of the Mode of proceeding in this Court
in such Cases and not Consulting with any Attorney or Solicitor thereon he
neglected to takeout the usual process of Venire Whereby this Deponent is
Barred from Trying his said Traverse to the said Bill of Indictment (so preferred
against him as aforesaid) at the present Sessions
