the making signing allowing and publishing of Rates for the relief of the poor in
the said parish require: Secondly, For that in and by the said Rate on Assessment
the Petitioners were charged and assessed for House Lands Tenements and Premises
held and occupied in the said parish of Hornsey in much larger Sum than they
ought to be so charged and assessed for the same and above the proportion at which
the Houses Lands Tenements and premises belonging to John Mayhew< no role > , John Brettell< no role >
Josiah Lister< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. , Thomas Yates< no role > and Thomas Isherwood< no role > were Charged in the said Parish
and were greatly overrated and aggrieved thereby. Thirdly: For that all and every the
Inhabitants Owners and Occupiers of Houses Lands or Tenements in the said Parish who
ought to be rated and assessed to the said Rate were not therein Rated and Assessed
and Fourthly For that the said Rate or Assessment was in other respects unequal
partial and illegal: whereby the Petitioners conceived themselves aggrieved which said
Appeal stood duly adjourned until this day Now upon hearing the said appeal and
what hath been alledged by the respective Parties their Counsel and Witnesses in and
concerning the Premises It is Ordered that the said Rate or Assessment be
and the same is hereby Quashed and It is further Ordered and directed that the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Hornsey do make a new equal Rate
or Assessment for the said Parish pursuant to the Statutes in that Case made and
provided
