they should be ordered according to Law to for bear the said Allowance and that the
petitioner had accordingly paid the said Thomas Harpur< no role > such weekly Allowance
in pursuance of the said Order. That Elizabeth Coxhead< no role > of the Parish of Ealing in the
County of Middlesex Widow was the daughter of the said Thomas Harpur< no role > and the
said Elizabeth Coxhead being an Innkeeper and in very afferent circumstances and
able to afford assistance to her aged and infirm Father and to prevent his receiving
relief from or being a burthen upon the said Parish: The Petitioner had frequently
applied to the said Elizabeth Coxhead to repay him what he had expended and paid as
Overseer aforesaid to the said Thomas Harpur< no role > or on his Account and to provide for
the said Thomas Harpur< no role > as he was required to do by Law, but that the said Elizabeth
Coxhead had refused so to do whereby the Petitioner conceived himself aggrieved and
therefore praying the Court to make an Order for the said Elizabeth Coxhead to pay unto
the Petitioner what he had so expended and paid on Account of the said Thomas
Harpur
< no role > and to provide for the future maintenance and support of her said Father as
by Law she was obliged and required to do: which said Appeal stood duly adjourned
until the day Now the said appeal coming on to be heard and the said Elizabeth
Coxhead being solemnby called but not appearing nor any Person on her behalf and
proof being made upon oath that a Copy of the Order of Court for the hearing and
determining the said Petition on this day had been personally served on the said
Elizabeth Coxhead; and it appearing unto this Court that the said Elizabeth Coxhead is
of sufficient ability to relieve and maintain the said Thomas Harpur< no role > and that the
said Thomas Harpur< no role > is now chargeable to the said parish of Garsington It is
Ordered that She the said Elizabeth Coxhead do pay unto the Churchwardens and
overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Garsington and their Successors or to some
or one of them the Sum of Three Shillings Weekly and every Week from the date hereof for
and towards the support and maintenance of the said Thomas Harpur for and
during so long time as he shall remain and be chargeable to the said Parish.
