taken before me this 20th. day of October 1795
Who being upon Oath say and first the said John Daniel< no role >
for himself saith thaton Tuesday the 13th. daysometime
last week or the Week before he ordered his Servant to buy
a load of Hay And Thomas Burden< no role >
for himself saith
that in consequence a of said Orders he or Tuesday last
bought a Load of Hay of Richard Parsons< no role >
now present
in St James's Hay market
for which he paid him
five pound twelve Shillingsfor [..]
out of which he
gave him two for himself and then said Persons gave
him a Receipt or Bill for said Sum of five Pound twelve
Shilllings that Mr. Clemitt and Mr. Martin called upon
him on the Thursday Following to whom he should said Bill
or receipt that on the next day Friday seeing said Persons
in the Borough
Market he told him that two Gentleman
had been with him enquiring about the price of said Load
of Hay and that he had shewed them his Bill that
said Parsons Replied he shoud be punished and woud
call upon this Informant in the course of the day that
in the Evening of the said day said Parsons called of
[..] him as his Stables and asked him for said Bill or
Receipt which he gavehimhim and he went away with
it first requesting this Informant to come to him at the
Queens Anne Kennington Lane
where he want to him
and where said Parsons told him that he had took'd said
Load of Hay at five Guineas and that he must change
the Bill or he must suffer that said Parsons then drew
a fresh Bill in his presence for five Guineas which
he gave to this Informant and then can called the
