and that he is now proceeding with the Repairs of the said
Lane, and to widen the North End of the same and that
the whole of the Lane will be compleated & widened within
a Month from this Time And this Deponent further saith
that Since the Depenants were found Guilty and fined as
above mentioned this Deponent hath caused to be laid out
and expended in pulling the said highway into Repair
the sum of £240 and upwards And shar by the June
said Highway is compleated in the Manner intended to
be done it will cost full the sum of £100 more making
together the Sum of £340 and upwards And this
Deponent further saith that the only Reason of the Repairs of
the said Highway not having Defendants having been under
several Prosecution for other Roads within & belonging to
the Parish of Saint Mary Islington which prevented this
Deponent from keeping so many Labourer upon the Repairs of
the said Highway as he otherwise would have done
being obliged to take off a part of the Labourer and Teams
to employ them in the Repairs of other Roads.
