The Inhabitants of Islington
(For in Nuisance in not repairing Duval's Lane)

Thomas Stallard< no role > Assistant Surveyor of the Parish of
Saint Mary Islington in the County of Middlesex maketh Oath
and saith that the above Indictment was tried at the General
Quarter Session of the Peace for the County of Middlesex in or
about October 1792 when the Defendants were found Guilty
and fined £100 the Payment of which has been from time to
time suspended upon Condition of the Defendants putting
the said Highway in Repair And this Deponent saith that
from that time bill the Month of March last past this [..]
Deponent did his almost Endeavours to prepare the said [..]
Highway for the Necessary Repairs and cause the Water to be
Drained off during the Winter Months bur was prevented by the
Weather from proceeding in such Repairs in the Manner he
intended to have done till some Time in the Month of March
last past at which Time and during the Month of April last
past this Deponent caused from 10 to 12 Labourers & 7 Teams to
be employed in repairing and supplying Gravel and Materials
towards the Repairs of the Roads And this Deponent caused to
be carted about 200 Loads of Gravel which was laid in the
said Lane And this Deponent further saith that the has
since the Month of April last past used all due Diligence to
put the said Highway into a good and Compleat state of
Repair and employed upon the Average from the Month of
May last past to this present Time 4 Labourers & necessary
Teams in Balasting And this Deponent further saith that
three fourths of the said Lane is put into compleat Repair
and
