For an Assault

Edward Poole< no role > of Mead Row Lambeth in the
County of Surrey the above named Defendant
maketh Oath and Saith that in April Sessions
last past a True Bill of Indictment was Preferred
and found against this Deponent by this above named
Prosecutor for an Assault And this Deponent further
Saith that in Consequence of such Indictment & being
so found against him as aforesaid he this Deponent
was removed from his Majestys Goal of Newgate
by an order of this Court as he is informed and
believe to take his Trial for the said assault at the
last Sessions And this Deponent further Saith that
in consequence of his being so removed as aforesaid and
being brought into this Court this Deponent was a steed
if he was prepared to take his Trial on the above
Prosecution at the last Session And on this Deponent
answering that the was last prepared to Take his
Trial an Application was made to this Court that
this Deponent should give as he is informed and believes
Thirty Eight Hours Notice of Bail in Order that he
this Deponent may Plead and Say his Traverse this
present Sessions And after such Application had
been made as aforesaid this Deponent was remanded
bach to Newgate untill he could find Suretie's to
answer to the said Indictment this Present Sessions
And this Deponent further saith that owing to his
extreem Ignorance of this Business and Apprehending
that he said Plead this Present Sessions to this
Indictment & And Say his Traverse the next Sessions
did not employ and Attonrey to Attend to this present
Business as he is informed and believe he ought to
have @ one and from this Deponents Ignorance
of Business of this find neglected to take out any
Veniri in Time to Say his Traverse this Sessions
