To the Worshipful his Majestys Justices of the peace
for the County of Middlesex in their General quarter Sessions
of the peace Assembled

The Humble Petition of the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor of the parish of Preston Candover
in the County of Hants

Sheweth


That by an order made by Thomas Wood< no role > Esquire and R:
Taylor Esqr. two of his Majestys Justices of the peace in and for the County
of Middlesex bearing date the seventeenth day of October 1782 directed to
the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the Hamlet of Hampton
Wick in the County of Middlesex they the said Church wardens and
overseers of the said Hamlet of Hampton Wick were required to remove
and Convey Sarah Sheerman< no role > and her Son John Sheerman< no role > of the age of
about 3 years from and out of the said Hamlet of Hampton Wick to the
said Parish of Preston Candover and them to deliver to the Church wardens
and overseers of the poor there or to some or one of them who were thereby
required to receive and provide for them According to Saw which said
Parish of Preston Candover the said two Justices did by the said order
adjudge to be the place of the last legal Settlement of the said Sarah
Sheerman as in and by the said order when produced will more
fulls appear

That tho the said order appears to be dated the 17th day of Octr.
1782 yet no Copy thereof was delivered to the Church wardens and
overseers of the parish of Preston Candover or any or either of them
nor were the said Sarah Sheerman< no role > and her Son John Sheerman< no role >
brought to them or either of them till the 1st. day of this Instant Julylast past

That your Petitioners find themselves Aggrieved by the said
order for that the said Parish of Preston Candover is not the place of
the last legal Settlement of the said Sarah Sheerman< no role > and her said Son

Your Petitioners therefore Humbly pray your Worships
that the said order so made by th said Thomas Wood< no role > and
R: Taylor may be quashed

And your Petitioners shall ever pray Etc.
