At a General Quarter Sessions of the Peace and Goal
Delivery of our Sovereign Lord the King held at the Guildhall of the City
of Lincoln aforesaid in and for the said City and County thereof on
Saturday the twenty eighth Day of April In the Year of our Lord One thousand
seven hundred and Eighty one Before George Kent< no role > Esquire Mayor
John Brown< no role > John Bennett< no role > John Kent< no role > Joseph Dell< no role > and Henry Swan< no role >
Gentlemen Aldermen and Justices of the Peace of our said Lord the
King (whereof one is of the Quorum) of and for the said City and County
thereof And others their Associates Justices of our said Lord the King
assigned to keep the Peace within the said City and County of the
same City And Also to Hear and determine the divers Felonys
Trespasses and other Misdemeanors Committed within the said
City and County of the same City

In Pursuance of the several Acts of Parliament made for Assessing
and rating the Prices of all Land Carriage of Goods whatsoever to be brought into
any Place within the Limits and Juaisdictions of the said Justices It is ordered by
the Court and by his Majestys Justices of the Peace here present That no Common
Wagoner or Carrier shall demand or take for one year now next ensuing any
greater Price for the Carriage of any Goods from London or from any Place within
the Weekly Bills of Mortality to any Town Parish or Place within the City or
County of the City aforesaid than the Rates or Prices-following (that is to say).

For every Parcel of Goods to be brought or carried by any Stage Coach
or Machine of that Nature not exceeding seven Pounds in Weight one Shilling
and for every parcel of Goods to be brought or carried in such Coach or Machine
which shall be above the Wright of seven Pounds After the rate of one Penny
half penny for every Pound Weight and no more

For every Parcel of Goods to be brought or carried by any Waggon
or Machine of that Nature not exceeding one Stone in weight the Sum of one
Shilling and for every parcel or Quantity of Goods to be brought or carried in such
Waggon on Machine which shall exceed one Stone in Weight After the Rate of
Six Shillings for every hundred Weight and no more
