In An Appeal touching the
Settlement of Frances Southcoll< no role >

James Nutland< no role > one of the Messengers to the
Government and Directers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint
James Westminster in the County of Middlesex maketh And
That the abovenamed Frances Southcoll< no role > was removed by the
Name and Description of Frances Askew< no role > Singlewoman and
her Male Bastard Child named John Montague< no role > about
Five Years from the said Parish of Saint Luke to the said
Parish of Saint James Westminster by in order bearing
Date the first day of September Instant under the Hands
and seals of Cad: Coker< no role > and W: Blackborow Esquires two
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the County
of Middlesex And this Deponent Saith That as he this
Deponent was conducting the said Pauper Frances Southcoll
to a Magistrate in order to have her Sworn to her
Examination concerning her Settlement she the said
Frances Southcoll absconded and run away from this
Deponent and altho' this Deponent did then and hath since
made stru'd Search after the said Pauper yet he hath
not been able to find her out in Order to produce her on
the Hearing of this Appeal Pursuant to the Notice given
by the said Respondents for that Purpose, nor hath this
Deponent been able to discover or pain any Intelligence where
She is.
