Whereas Elizabeth Rogers< no role > an a Single woman was lately
delivered (in the Liberty about the Barrs within the parish of St. Andrew Holborne
in the Said County of Midlx) of a Male Bastard Child named John an
which hath been and is likely to continue chargeable to the said parish of St. Andrew
Holborne Wee two of her Maties, Justices of the Peace for the Said County of Midlx
(Quorum Unus) and both residing in or next the Limittd of the parish Church
of St. Andrews aforesaid (where the Said Bastard Childe was borne having upon
the complaint of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poors of the said
parish taken upon us the hearing & Examinacon of the Said cause doe finde
by the Examinacon of the said Elizabeth Rogers< no role > upon her Oath and other
Circumstances and proofes that one Michaell Stretch< no role > (now a Prisoner in
New Prison at Clerkenwell in the Said County is the reputed Father of the Said
Bastard Child Whereupon Wee doe order and adjudge him the Said Michaell
Stretch
< no role > to be the reputed father of the Said Bastard Child And Wee doe further
Order that he the Said Michaell Stretch< no role > the reputed father Shall imediatly
upon notice given unto him of this our order pay or cause to be paid into the hands
of the Overseers of the poore of the parish aforesaid or to some or one of them the
Sume of two pounds and Eighteen Shillings of Lawfull Money for & towards
the Money by them already disbursed in the Keeping & maintaining the Said
Bastard Childe from the time of its Birth to the day of the date hereof and for
other necessary expences at the lying in of the Said Elizabeth Rogers< no role > And shall
alsoe weeikh and ever Weeke from & after the time of Such notice (Soe long as the
Said Childe Shall be chargeable to the Said parish) pay or cause to be paid unto the
Overseers of the poore of the Said parish of St. Andrew Holborne for the time
being or to Some or one of them the Sume of two Shillings of like lawfull
Money for & towards the Keeping and Educacon of the Said Bastard Child, And
Lasty Wee doe Order that the Said Michaell Stretch< no role > doe become bound with
Sufficient Security in a Bond of Forty pounds Unto Thomas Halloway< no role > and
Thomas Perkins< no role > two of the present Overseers of the poore of the Said parish
of St. Andrew Holborne ) Upon notice hereof) well and truely to performe
and Keep this our order Given Under our hands and Seales this Fo [..]
