William Dalby< no role > of Hackney road in the Parish of Saint Matthew Bethnel
Green in the said County of Middlesex Wheelwright maketh Oath that he did on or
about the Ninth day of October Instant enter into a Recognizance in the sum of £40
before David Wilmot< no role > Esqr. one of his Majestys Justices of the peace in & for the said
County of Middlesex for his appearance at this present General Quarter Session of
the peace held in & for the said County to Prosecute & give Evidence on the behalf of
our Sovereign Lord the King agt. the above named George Medlar for Feloniously
Stealing taking of carrying away Six Streaks of Iron the property of hi [..] this
Deponent And this Deponent also saith that he did in discharge of his said
Recognizance at this present General Quarter Session (to wit) on Tuesday last
the 20th. day of this Instant October prefer a Bill of Indictment agt. him th [..] said
George Medlar for the sd. Felony & did attend upon & give Evidence before
the grand Jury then sitting in & for the sd. County who returned the Sa [..]
a true Bill And this Deponent further saith that he was informed by one of
the Officers of this Honarable Court that the sd George Modlar wod. Not be tried
till the Friday following & that he need not attend before that day And this
Dept saiths that in Consequence of that Information he went on Thursday last
to Epping to fetch home Some Timber which he had purchased & that he set
out upon his Return by the way of Eybridge where he had some Business to
do abt. 9 o Clock in the afternoon of the same day with an intention of getting
home that Evening & of attending to give Evidence the next Morning agt. the
Said George Medlar before this Honorable Court And this Dept. further Saith [..]
that soon after his Arrival at Eybridge he was taken extreamly ill with a
Violent disorder in his Bowels attended with a Constant Vounting which
rendered him wholly incapable of persuing his Journey to Town & Oblised
him to go immediately to Bed & that he was quite nurble to leave Exbridge
till abt. 10 o Clock on Friday Morning which he thew did & upon his geting
to Town went immediately to Hicks Hall in Order to give Evidence against
the [..] said George Madlar agreeable to his Recognizance & that upon
