October 16. 1775

Sir I Rceived a letter from you in forming me that unless I drew
my Recognizance that my goods & Chattles where liable to be seized
this is to inform you that I am a very poor man & that my family
are now in very Great disstress & that I have neither goods nor Chatles
& that I was at your house this morning for advice & your not being
at home was the Cause of my making so bold us to troubl you with
these fines hoping as you have a thorrough feeling for a poor man that
you will be so good as to send me a few lines by the penny post
to lett me know the properest time to wait uppon you & as to paying
the fine it is out of my power But there is a posibility of its being
midigated I am willing to pay all in my power
from your poor afflicted humble servant to Command John Parker< no role >
P S my poor family will miss the loss of time wich I Lost Coming to
your house
