Your printed Letter dated the 5th: Instant
was brought to this Town but Yesterday, which
being Fryday (the only Day in the Week, in Which,
within, the Post does not set out for London) it and
not be answerd till this Day. The Letter is directed
to Mr William Brightman< no role >

, and as I have a Brother whose Name
is William Brightmer< no role >
the post Master
in this
Town suppos'd it must be meant for my Brother,
and accordingly broke it up in my Presence. But
my Brother is a Ship master and has been at
seat from this port about nineteen Months
trading abroad, and we know not of Course whether
he is dead or living. I thought proper however to
send this and am Six year humble Servant
