WHEREAS Complaint has been made unto us, two of
His MAJESTY'S Justices of the Peace
in and for the
County of MIDDLESEX
(one whereof being of the
Quorum) by the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the Parish of St. LUKE
, in the said County, That
Catherine

Wife of
John Woodfield< no role >
(who is gone
away and left her) and her three Children namely
John< no role >
aged about ten years
Susanna< no role >
aged about Six
years and
Sarah< no role >
aged about four years have
lately come into the said Parish, endeavouring to settle there,
contrary to Law. And it appeareth unto us the said Justices,
and we do adjudge that they are likely to become charge-
able to the said Parish; and upon Examination of the said

taken upon Oath,
if further appeareth unto us, and we do likewise adjudge, that
the Parish of Saint James Westminster
in the
County of Middlesex
is the Place of the last legal Settlement of the said
Catherine

and her said three Children

These are therefore in His MAJESTY'S Name to Charge and
Command the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of St. LUKE
, forthwith to remove and convey the said
Catherine Woodfield< no role >
and her said three Children
from the said Parish of St. LUKE
, to the said Parish of
Saint James Westminster
and deliver them to the
Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or to some
or one of them, who are hereby required to provide for them
according to Law. GIVEN under our Hands and Seals
the 24th Day of August 17 70.
