in and for the said county this twelfth
Day of June in the
Year of our Lord 1769.
Who on Oath saith, That he was born in the
Parish of Saint Alkman
in the town of
Shrewsbury
in the county of Salop
that he
was bound apprentice toEvans of the
parish
of St. Child
in Shrewsbury
aforesaidand that
Shoemaker
and that with the consent of his
said master he worked with his this examinant's
father who is also a shoemaker
for all or the
far greater part of the seven years for which
he was bound, and that the last forty days of
his said service was either in the said parish of
St Alkman or in the parish of St. Mary in
Shrewsbury
aforesd. but which of the two he is not
certain. That about three years ago he came to
live at Twickenham
where he married. That he hath
never been an hired servant by the year nor rented a house of ten pounds a year nor
served any parish office nor said any parish rates
nor Land tax nor to the best of his knowledge
acquired any settlement other than as aforesaid.
