Informations of Witnesses severally Taken and
Acknowledged the Twenty Eighth day of June in the
Ninth Year of King George the Third At the House of
Catherine Mc. Gonnigal< no role > known by the Sign of the Gun
and Hollybush in the Parish of Saint George in the
County of Middlesex before Thomas Phillips< no role > One of the
Coroners for the said County touching the Death of Mary
Jones
< no role > then and there lying Dead as follow (to wit)

Mary Greenwood< no role > of Normans Court in Cabell Street Saint George
Saith the Deceased was the Wife of a Chimney Keeper and
used to go out Picking Raggs That She and her Husband
Lived in Normans Court in a Quiet manner
That on Tuesday the Twentieth of this Month about Ten Clock
at Night Informant was going Home to Bed And there
was One John Green< no role > (who is a Rag Picker and Lives
next Door but One to Informant in the same Court
was Quarrelling with the Deceased in the Open Court
That Green had in his Hand a Piece of Bread and Meat
and a Knife And Green Scraped his Knife upon the Ground
And the Deceased said to him I hope You are not Come to
Cut me with the KnifeAnd Green Answerd "no
can't I Eat my Supper"That soon afterwards
Green went to the Deceased in her Passage going into her
House and Struck her a blow under the Right Ear
with his double Fist And said You Bitch I'll Knock Your
Eye Out"That upon Receiving the Blow she Dropt
down on her KneesBut She got up again and
struck the said Green somewhere upon the Eye with a
Quart Pewter PotThat upon this Green Clapd'
