To the Worshipful his Majestys Justices of the peace for the County of
Middlesex in their Quarter Session Assembled

The humble Petition of William Alexander Dodd< no role >
and George Wanley Bowes< no role >

Sheweth


That your Petitioners are Surveyors of the Highways
within the parish of Hanwell in the County of Middlesex
for the present year and have used their best Endeavours for the
Repairing and Amending the said ways

That the greatest part of the statute work has been
done and the composition Money duly laid out in the said Repairs
but that the whole labour and Composition fell very short of the
necessary means of compleating the said Business so that
your Petitioners have necessarily expended about Thirty six
Pounds therein and in compounding with the Turnpik'e Trust
and still in disburse about Eighteen pounds thereof

That there being some labour to be performed your
Petitioners will be necessarily put to some further expences in
digging Gravel and other Things to cooperate in the finishing
of the said Repairs

That a Rate of six pence in the pound on the Occupyors
or Inhabitants within the said Parish will amount to about the
sum of Twenty five pounds

Your Petitioners therefore humbly pray are
Order of this Honourable Coart for the making of a
Rate of six pence in the pound in such manner
as shall seem meet according to the form of the
Statute in such Case lately provided

And your Petitioners shall ever pray Etc.
