Justice [..] day'd [..]

On Easter Sunday being 3d april Miss was to go Out but her Mistress wd not Let her go in the Morning
because her Child was ill but she shod go after Dinner and her Mistress ordered Dinner at one O'Clock
that she might go the Sooner And after Dinner she went seemingly well pleased but she did not return
again not did her Mistress hear any thing of her untill she received a Sumons to attend Justice Wright
which greatly frightened her never having been before a magistrate & she was then near lying in however
she Attended it & the Justice heard the Matter & declared he saw no Cause of Complaints discharged
the Summons & the next Stop was the Application here

Miss's Father is a Haberdasher & she May be of Service to him in his Business & may do
Something in the Millinery way having been about 17 Months with Mrs Carey who does the best Work
in the Millinery Branch Working for None but people of Quality & does not keep any shop Miss was
going for 17 when she came to Mrs Carey & being so Old may have got Sufficient into the Business
But its a hard Case on any Master or Mistress who shall take apprentices to keep them at Bed & board
& teach & instruct them & when they become Capable of being of Service shall loose them as this Seems
to be the Cave for Miss declared to a maid Servant who we have here that her father intended to get
her away from her Mistress & get some of the Money back tho' it was not Advanced by him
but by the Exer of her Grand father who had left her Some money the Exor wod not trust her father
even to pay this £20

Mrs Carey is no ways desirouse of keeping Miss but hopes the Court will not Order any Money
to be Returned as Miss has not Only been found in Board & Lodging for about 17 Months but
Also in great part of her washing which Mrs Carey did not agree to do And as she has gone away witht:
any Real Cause of Complaint at hereby Mrs Carey is to loose all the time that she Might be of benefit to
her And her going away Obliged Mrs Carey to have a Journey woman which she need not have done
if Miss had not gone away The agreement was when Miss came that Mrs Carey was not to allow her
Tea in the afternoon but in order to induce her to behave well Mrs Carey never Missed but one day while
the was with her giving her Tea in the afternoon but instead of be having well she behavs'd very ill for she
was [..] tittle tittleing Mischief [..] ing Girl as could come into to who use which was Seldom quiets
while she was in it her Mistress cod not keep a Maid but a short time together on her Account this is the
whole of the Case which must be Submitted to the Court And if the binding is Legal Mrs: Carey ought
not to be deprived of the benefit of her apprentice (unless the Religion shall be thought a Reason) And
upon the Case we apprehend Mrs Cary has the greatest reason to Complain
