Be it Remembered that on the Sixteenth day of August
in the Eighth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the
third of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and So forth
Thomas Partyn< no role > and James Roberts< no role > Overseers of the poor of the parish of Little Stanmore
n the County of Middx at Hendon in the Said County Do bring Unto me John
Crasse
< no role > Esqr. one of the Justices of our Said Lord the King Assigned to keep the peace Within
the Said County and also to hear and Determine Divers felonies Trespasses and Other
Misdemeanors in the Said County Committed, the Body of Mary Sersin< no role > , Single woman
and do Complain Unto me the Justice Aforesaid and give me to be Informed that on
the Seventeenth day of July last past in the Year Aforesaid at Edgwar in the parish
of Little Stanmore Aforesaid in the County Aforesaid She the Said Mary Sersin was Wandering
and Lodging in a Barn and that She the Said Mary Sersin then and there (to Witt) on the
Said Seventeenth day of July Last past at Edgware aforesaid in the parish Aforesaid and
County Aforesaid So Wandering and Lodging in a Barn was delivered of a female Bastard
Child and that thereby She the Said Mary Sersin hath become Chargeable and is Now
Chargeable to the Said parish of Little Stanmore and that the Said Mary Sersin had Not
then Nor yet hath any Lawfull Settlement in the Said parish of Little Stanmore and
thereupon they the Said Overseers of the poor of the parish aforesaid Do Pray of me the
Justice aforesaid that for themselves and Other Inhabitants of the parish Aforesaid A due
Remedy May be provided and that Justice may be done in that behalfe According to
the Statute in that Case made Whick Complaint Information and prayers by me the
Justice aforesaid being heard I the Said John Crosse< no role > at Hendon aforesaid in the County
Aforesaid on the Said Sixteenth day of August in the Year Aforesaid Upon the
Examination of the Said Mary Sersin Upon oath by me Unto her Upon the Holy
Gospell administared and upon other Lawfull Evidence and testimoney before me had
and Made do find the Said Complaint and Information to be true and thereupon it
Considered by me the Justice Aforesaid that the Said Mary Sersin be Committed
and is by me Committed to the House of Correction at Clerkenwell in the County
aforesaid Untill the Next General Sessions of the peace to be holden Within
and for the Said County In Testimony whereof I the Said John Crosse the
Justice aforesaid at Hendon Aforesaid in the County aforesaid the 16 day of
August Aforesaid in the Year aforesaid Unto this Record do Set my hand and Seal
