St. James Clerkenwell -the Twentieth day of
September 1768 At the Jolly Coopers
Touching the Death of John Stoddart< no role >
then and there lying Dead

John White< no role > of the parish of Saint Sepulchres
without Gentleman That last Sunday was
fortnight Informant was sent for to Come
to the deceased he went And was up Stairs
with the Deceased and spoke with him and
Asked him how his Accident happened he told
Informant that coming [..] down [..] by the Wells
he was met by two men One before the
Other and that they began to Blast his Eyes
and Demand his Life or his Money the deced
said he would not be Robbed and they
Struck the deced several times with a Stick
that the Informant found the Deceased
in a great deal of pain therefore thought
it not proper to say more to him And left
him and went and Called the Surgeons up
to wit Mr parson and Mr. Hart that they came
and Mr. parson asked the deceased about
his Water or whether he had Spit or Vomitted
Bloodhisthe deceased made no Answer
but his Sister said he had not spit or
vomited upon which Mr. Parson in his
Judgment thought the deceased in no danger
but to which Mr: Hart then said nothing but
afterwards told the Witness at his own House that he thought him in
great danger that he saw the deceased Daily
