New gate?

Dont know of any Particular Law
whirl Obliged the City of London to Repair
that Gaol any otherwise than in the View
of its being a County Gaol for the City
of London - so far as it regards the
City of London I think they ought to Repair
it.

Do not Justices of the County Commit at
large to thee other Goals in the County ?

I believe the Justices of the County Commit
to Newgate New Prison & Clerkenwell
Bridewell -The Westminster Justices to
Tothill Fields Bridewell & the Gate house

Dont they Commit Felons often to these
Gaols than to Newgate ?

I believe 3 to one- & are brought 6 days
before the Session to Newgate.

Did You ever hear of the County of
Middlesex Contributing to the Repair of
Newgate?

I never did.

where do the Justices of Middlesex Commit
to for Misdemeanors for 2 or 3 Months ?

To Clerkenwell Bridewell & New Prison

The Sheriff of London take Security from the
Gasler of Newgate - its given to the Sheriffs
of London & Middlesex .

Who receives the Fines or Forfitures for
the Prisoners Committed by the Justices of
Middlesex ?

All Fines Amerciament & Recognizances
in Middlesex belong to the Gown.

who Seizes Forfiture in Middlesex ?

Sheriffs of London Seize for the the Gown
Sheriffs are intitled to Effects if found in
