London-if in Middlesex seized for the
King.

If the Prisoners are not removed to
Newgate does the Gaoler lose his Fees ?

Yes.

Have you not known an Application
made from the Gaoler of Newgate to
have Felons removed from the Counters
that he might have his Fees ?

There was an Order made for the
Prisoners to be removed 6 days before
the Session.

Have you not known a Felon of a
higher Bank than Common permitted to
stay in the Counter if the Gasler of Newgate
had His Fees ?

Not upon those Terms- have known
mary Applications made, sometimes with
Success & sometimes not to the Lord

Mayor or Committing Justices to dispence

with that Order & to Permit the Prisoners
to stay in the Counters till the Time of
Tryal.

Was not the Gasler to he Satisfied his
Fees ?

I dare say 100 Times Without - sometimes
a Compliment of a Guinea.

Dont you know the Gasler of Newgate
demands his Fees in those Cases ?

I don't know of demand for Felony -I
believe if he's offered it he takes it - for
Misdemeanors he is intilled to it and takes
them in Case the party is Committed to his
Custody & [..] tried there.

To whom does the Gasler pay a sent or
Satisfaction ?

I believe he pays 30 or 40 to a Year for
the Press Yard which is an addition to the
Gaol; I believe to the City.

Is there no Satisfaction paid by Mr.
