John Wright< no role > the Defendant in this Cause maketh Oath that he
this Defendant Entered into a Recognizance to try his Traverse
upon the above Indictment in October Session last past In
Pursuance of which this Defendant Applied to and [..] Employer
one Mr. Bonus an Attorney at Law in order to take Care of and
Defend the said Indictment for him And afterwards Applied to the
said Mr. Bonus Several times to know what had been done by him on
Account of the said Indictment And the said Mr.Bonus about Three
Months age Informed this Defendant that all Proceedings
relating to this Cause were Discharged or Words to that or the like
effect And that he this Defendant would never hear any more of
it and desiring this Defendant to make himself very Easy and not
trouble himself any farther about it And this Defendant further
Saith that he relied on the Veracity of the said Mr. Bonus And
really believed what he had told him was true But to his
great Surprize was last Week served with a Notice that his said
Recognizance would be Estreated And upon Enquiry now finds
that the said Mr. Bonus hath Deceived this Defendant and
nothing hath becu done in the said Cause But saith he is very
ready and willing to try the said Indictment At the next Sessions
And will take care to give the Prosecutrix due Noting thereof
