The Information of John

17th. day of Febry 1763

Who being upon Oath says that he knows Daniel Blake< no role >
late Servant to Lord Dacre, and now in Newgate. says
that he became acquainted with said Blake something above
a year agoe when he lived with Miss Cliffe of Hanover
Street, says that last Summer while he was in the Service
of the said Lady be contracted a Dept with this Informt
of about fourteen Shillings for washingdone by his Wife
that after this, on said Blakes going out of Town with his
Mistress, he this Informt. applied to him and pressed him
much for his money, says that said Blake declared he
cou'd not then pay the money, and therefore took his Silver
Buckles out of his Shoes & of them with this Informt.
as a Pledge for the Money, says that about Michaelmas
last when said Blake returned to Town he redeemed.
the said Buckles, says that after this said Blake contracted
another Debt with this Informt. of Eight Shillings which
Sum he owed him til the 1st. day of Kebly Inst. the
day of the Murder of John Murcott< no role > the this Informant
had several times asked him for it and this Informt
farther says that on Tuesday the Sd. 1st. of Feby before nine
in the Morning, said Blake came to this Informt. and paid
him the said Eight Shillings, and about 4 o' Clock the same
day came a second time to him and purchased a Box of
this Informt. with Lock & Key for which he Paid three Shillings
& Six pence, says that at the first of these Payments
said Blake charged half a Guinea with this
