Sarah< no role > the Wife of Martin Barnes< no role > a Soldier
abroad That on the Monday before the Child died she
was at the Cock in Corbibs Court abt. or in the morning Ja. Bedford< no role >
came for a Pail of Water & said he was in Trouble
for the Child had been crying from 4 in the Morning
for Victualsshe Answrd. she was going to Eight her
Fire & when she had done it she would fetch the
Child & food itshe did so but it did not care to
catshe gave it some Warm milk water & Sugar
say she open'd the Child from head to Foot & it
appear'd all over like in a nextit was said to
be the Pockey Itchshe dried the Childs, Things
& Put them on againPut it into the Cradle where
it slept for two hoursThat Bedford came up &
offer'd the Witness 1s.6d a week to Nurse it, &
he said he would find it Victuals a but she decline
it for she expected every hour to be called to Nurse
a Young Womandid not [..] it upon the
Accts. of 1s.6d a Week she thought that enough
as she was to have the Child at homeThe
Time she speaks off was the Week in wch the Child
died & after Mrs. Robins had burid itThinks
the Father was very tender of the Child & ask'd
the Witness if she had Sugar enoughshe said
it was not sweet enough That he said he had
but three farthings is that he wd. Go & buy half
a quartern of Sugar wch. he didSays she hath
Known the Father abt. 6 year & is by Trade a Hatter
