The Information of Catherine Chapel< no role >
of Spread Eagle Court Grays Inn Lane
of Widow taken before me this 31st. day
of August 1762

Who being upon Oath says that She is Laundress to Abraham
Hilton
< no role > Esquire of Gray [..] Inn , says that about a Month agoe
on a Thursday Night [..] about 10 o'Clock the said Mr.
Hilton set out for Bath in the Bath Machine which goes
from Fleet Market says that about nine o'Clock the same
Evening She this Informt. carried to the Inn by Mr. Hilton's
directions a very small Portmanteau which contained two
Shirts, two Stocks, one Pair of Stockings, one Pair of
Breeches, and one Pair of [..] Knee Buckles Stone set in
Pinchbeck which she wrapt up and put into the said
Portmanteau with her own hand, says that on her
said Master's return from Bath he told this Informant
that he had been attacked and Robbed by a Single
Highwayman of the above Portmanteau containing the
Particulars as above says that She has since seen
a Pair of Stone Buckles set in Pinchbeck, and said
to be found in the Possession of a Person now in Custody which
Buckles She verily believes to be the same of which Mr.
Hilton was Robbed as aforesaid
