St. Giles in the Fields

On Monday Apr. 20 was Brott. to the Middx Hospital
Philip Carr< no role > a Mariner Reported by those that Brought
him to have been Violently Brusedby fallinbetween
Two Loiters at Hungerford the proceeding Saturday
but he afterwards Declared that the hurts he had, pro-
-ceeded from being kickt. & Beat. [..] at a house in Welsh's
yard that he had Remained at home very Ill with violent
Vomitings, on Examining him the whole Abdemen appeared
very Tense & Swelled (very Painfull on being touched a
Rupture on the left Groin he Vomited Great Quantities
of a Coffee Colored Liquor, his Pulse scarce to be Perceived
in either Wrist, his Tongue had a Yellow Crust on it,
he had Great Drought. Cold Sweats on the Extremities
a Glister was administered. A Catheter introduced into the
the Patient having [..] Voided no Urine Since the Accidt.
but more was found in the Bladder Draughts were ordered
for his Vomiting & Application to his Belly. the Next Morn Apr. 21
there were Some Alterations in his Simptoms for the Better
In the forenoon Medicines were prescribed at a Consultation
without Effect, for he Continued much in the Same way till
Next Morn 22 at 3 o' Clock [..] he died

On Opening the Body there appeared Intlamation & Morts-
-fication in various Parts of the Intestines The Cavity of the
Abdomen filled with Yellow Mucow fluid the Liver also
Inflamed The Pancreas & Splen a little Schirrous
At the lower End of the [..] on the Right Side of the Ab-
-domen was an Opening that would admitt the little Finger
