That the said Child asked Depont. for a Morsell of Bread & Depont. gave her
half Penny to' buy some that the sd Child had then a wound on one of her Arms wch
then bled was to run down her Arm & sd Child then said her master had given her
that Wound with a horsewhip, & further said that She with the rest in all nine had
a penny worth of Bread that morning This Depont. One saw a log of Mutton
bought for sd Children which was not fitt for a human Person to eat and this
Depont calls Is Carrier And belives that the said Elizabeth Furniss< no role > less her Life
by Severity & Famine

December 1759 Elizabeth Furniss< no role > was rewd into the work house aforesaid in a long [..]
Condition, And Deponent on the 29th. went to ask her how She did She answered very
ill, That she said She had a Purging & complained her Master Mrs. Cockbill had
beaten her very severely and Deponent saw upon View a great many Marks of
Blows & her Back Seemed one continued Bruize & Furniss said that her sd
Master had Starved her That said Furniss was so weak she could notnoeat,
She lived about a Week & then dyed

being sworne Says that on the27thtwenty eighth Day of December 1759
Deponent comeing to St Lukes Workhouse as Apothecary there to, was informed
that the deced had rewd Injury from her Master,& Atdeferred his Enquiry least
the Injury might to Proprest for a Surgeons Care, On the Sunday following
being the 30th. of sd Month Deponent on a Visit & Discovr he found the
sd deced in a violent fearer & flux & severall burizes in and about
various parts of her body exceeding languid & all most Speech less that
She dyed on the wednesday following
