Ann Fox< no role > wife of Peter Fox< no role > maketh Oath that she
was Marryed to her Husband about Eight
Years since at the Fleet London who is an pishman
and never was an House holder or gained any
legal Settlement to her knowledge in any place in
England, that on or about the 25th. day of January
last she obtained a Writing under the Hand &
Seal of the Rt Honble Francis Cokayne< no role > Esqr . Lord Mayor of the
City of London Permitting her to pass to Bristol
in fourteen days from the date thereof at which
time her said Husband Staid in the Street and
perswaded this Examt. to Name Bristol as the
place she belonged to pretending he could get
work there [..] having nothing to do in Town,
that after her Obtaining the said pass she went
into Several parishes in the said City and others
in the Liberty of Westmr. and got several small
Sums of money from the Officers of the said parish
for her relief And on or about the 14th. day of
March last she Wandred form the parish of St.
James Westmr . into the Parish of St. Giles in
the fields where she was taken in Labour before
her Expected time and being sent to the Workhouse
belonging to the sd. parish was about Eight
hours afterwards Delivered there of a Female
child baptized Jane which< no role > dyed about ten days
after her Birth, that when she came from
the parish of St. James Westmr . where she had
the last money given to her, her said Husband
left her and she hath not seen him since

April 1751 before
