in the day time any House belonging to any Baker to view the Bread & if it be found wan [..]
either in Goodness or deficient in Baking or working, or wanting in Weight or not truly
Marked to seize the sd. Bread & cause the same to be distributed to poor of Parish, And
if any Baker shall not Permit such Search [..] or Seizure shall forfeit 40s. to Informer to be
reversed in Summary manner before mentioned

9.If any Action brt. agt. Mayor, Cheif Magistrate, Justice, Constable or other
person, Deft. may plead Genl. Issue & give special cure in Evidence & if pet be nonsuited
or discontinue, or Verdict given for Deft. such Deft. shall have double Casts

10. This Act shall not Prejudice the Rights of the City of London

11. Persons punished by this Act shall for same Offence by Prosecuted by any other Lawer

12. All Justices, Constables & other Officers are commanded to be put in Execution
an Act made in 22d. C. 2d. Intituled an Act for ascertaining the Measures of Corn & Salt
And another Act made in the 22th. & 23th. of K. Car: 2d. Intituled An Additional Act for
ascertaining the Measures of Corn and Salt

13. This Act shall not Prejudice the Rights of the Universities

14. To continue for three years
Continued by 1. G. 1. Stat 2. cal. 26. [..] 4. with some Alterations
Continued by 5. G. 1. cap. 25. for five years
Continued by 10 Geo. 1. c. 17. for Seven years
And further Continued by 3 Geo: 2d. c. 29. Sect 1, until March 1738.

5-By Act 8 Queen Anne a Penalty of 40s. is Caid upon all Bakers exposing
to sale any Bread wanting Weight, or not marked, which Penalty hath been found
to be great hardship, Enacted that sd. Penalty of 40s. shall after 1st. Sept 1715 be
repealed, And aftersd. 1 Sept if any Baker shall Bake Bread deficient in Weight
to the amount of One Ounce 2s. 6d such Bread being Weighed
wanting and for any Weight less than an Ounce 2s. 6d such Bread being weighed
before a Magistrate or before any person by him appointed within 24 hours after the
same shall be baked or exposed to Sale within the Cities of London and Westmr.
& Bills of Mortality & within three days in all other Cities Towns or Places within
the part of Great Britain called England Wales & Berwick upon Tweed the sd.
forfeitures to be given to the Informer & to be recovered in the same manner as
said Forty Shillings
