6. Every Baker after 1st. Septr. 1715 may make and sell peck half peck
Quartern & half Quartern Loaves so as the same be made both as to weight &
Price inproportion to the Assize Table in sd. former Act
7. Aftersd. Sept every time the Assize shall be altered according to the Powers
in the sd. reated Act, the Prices of Grain Meal and Four in the adjacent Markets where
[..] such Assize shall be set (the sd. Prices to be asctertained according to the Linchester
Measure) shall be certified upon Oath before sd. Ld. Mayor & Aldermt. of London
or Chief Magistrate
or Justices who by sd. Act are Authorized to set such [..] Assize by the Clerk or Clerks of the
respective Adjacent Markets or such other Persons as sd. Magistrates shall appoint
so that they may set the Assize accordingly & make such Allowance to the Bakers for
their charges pains & Livelihood as heretofore has been accustomed And that the
Assize of Bread for the City of London
& Bills of Mortality (City of Westmr. & libties thereof
Borough of Southwark
& Bills of Mortality in County of Surry excepted) shall be set by
Court of Ld. Mayor & Alderman of London
or by Ld Mayor

Sect 2. After 24 June 1730 Hairy Person baking Bread for sale or
Exposing Bread to sale shall sell any peck, half peck or Quarter Loaf at [..] any higher price
than shall be set by sd. Court of Ld. Mayor & Aldemen or by the Ld. Mayor of sd. City
by order of sd. Court only the Mayor Bailiffs Aldermen or Chief Magistrates for the time
being of any City Town Corporate or Borough or by any two or more Justices of Peace
in such places where there shall be no such Mayor Bailiffs Aldermen or other Magistrate
he she or they convicted shall for ever Offence forfeit 10s. to be given to the
Informer & to be recovered as Penalty of 40s. is by the 8 of 2. Anne to be recovered
3. That before any Reduction is made in the Assize of Bread a Copy of the
Prices delivered in by the Meal Weighers, shall be left at the Comon Hall of the
Bakers Company 12 hours before any such reduction to the intent the sd. Company
shall have an opportunity to be heard thereupon before sd Court
