The Examination and Voluntary Confession
of John Burk< no role > of the Hamlet of Poplar in the
said County Taken before me Walter Berry< no role >
Esqr . one of his Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for the said County this first Day of
March in the year of our Lord 1717.

This Examinant Cofesseth and Saith that this Day
about one o'Clock he was at work in the white Lead
house at Lime house hole in the said County along wille
William Divericks< no role > And he this Examinant having see [..]
the said William Divericks< no role > coat lying by him went
and Searched the Pockets of the same and found in one
of them a Tin Box and having Opened it he this
Examinant found therein two half Guineas Which he
put in his own pocket And sometime after the said
William Divericks< no role > having Miss the said Box & Money
healong withComplained to the Clerk of the Works who
ordering a General Seach to be made for the same Among
the Labourers the said Box and Two half Guineas was
found in the Posession of him this Examinant And
farther Saith not

Taken and acknowleged the Day
and year aforesaid Before me
