this 16th Day of February 1747.
These Examintnts being brought before me and Charged
with the pete [..] Stealing of the following goods to the
val [..] of two Shillings and upwards Vizt. one Jacket, one
pair of shoes, one Shirt, one pair of Breeches and one Waste:
Coat do severaly say as fellows. And first the said John Katon
Confesseth and Saith, That this other Examinant William
Lovick entried him to desert from their said Master

and desired him to as along with him
to Deal and he would get him the Said John Katon< no role >
a Ship
and that the said William Lovick< no role >
did Feloniously steal
out of a Fishing Smart belonging to their said
Master one Striped Linnen Shirt a Waste Coat, one Jacket
And one pair of Shoes all which, Save the said Shirt, he
gave him this Examinant John Katon to carry for
him and said that he would Sell whem to gett money
to Carry them Down to Deall. and this Examinant
William Lovick on his Examination Confesseth & saith
as followeth vizt. That he did feloniously Steal the said
Shirt But d [..] ieth that he Stole any other of the
above mentioned goods and further these Examinants
Lay [..] That the above felony was Committed about Seven
o' Clock this Morning and further Say not.
